Hollywood Celebrity ‘Jessica Chastain’ Admits to Dropping Out of High School!
Jessica Chastain has established herself as one of the hottest celebrities and most talented actresses in Hollywood in recent years. The Oscar-nominated star of “The Help” and “Zero Dark Thirty” is considered to be one of the most hardworking celebrity in the business, featuring in four movies in 2014 and six in 2011.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly this week, the beautiful redhead admitted that she had not always been like this. “Nobody knows this about me – I dropped out of high school. I was not a hard worker. I was a terrible student. Eventually I got my adult diploma, but I did not graduate. And it wasn’t that I just dropped out and never went back – at the end of the year I had too many absences to graduate“, Chastain honestly admits.
Chastain also confesses that not only was she an absentee from school, she was also a bit eccentric as well: “I would avoid school and sit in my car, reading Shakespeare.” Later, she auditioned for the prestigious Juilliard School and she was accepted at the age of 22: “I got into Juilliard and I’d never been around literature like that”….”It completely opened me up,” she says.
Thus, Jessica has a piece of advice for the struggling young students who are under-performing in school now: “I thought that I wasn’t an intelligent person because I did so poorly. There are kids out there that aren’t doing well in school – and I hope they never think it means they’re stupid. It’s all about finding where your interest lies and finding what you’re good at.”
The 37-year-old stars in the new action movie “A Most Violent Year”, along with Oscar Isaac and Golden Globe nominee David Oyelowo.
