Golden Globe Awards 2015, Check out the Big Winners!

Golden Globes is regarded as a special event in Hollywood’s calendar because it kick starts the award season and also brings together the biggest stars in film and television. Yesterday, we brought you glamorous pictures (Click here of you missed the Red Carpet Photos) from this year’s award ceremony which was held in in Beverly Hills, California in a ceremony hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, for the third consecutive time.

Among the big winners were TV shows, “The Affair”, “Fargo” and “Transparent” as well as movies, “Boyhood”, “Birdman” and “The Theory of Everything”, all of which received multiple awards. As far as the surprises of the day, highly acclaimed “Selma” won only 1 out of 4 nominations while “The Imitation Game” and “Foxcatcher” went home without any top honors despite having 5 and 3 nominations respectively.

In movies, the top 4 acting awards for motion pictures performances went to Michael Keaton (“Birdman”) and Amy Adams (“Big Eyes”) for Musical/Comedy category, and Eddie Redmayne (“The Theory of Everything”) and Julianne Moore (“Still Alice”) for Drama. As for the supporting actor and actress, J. K. Simmons (“Whiplash”) and Patricia Arquette (“Boyhood”) were the big winners. Meanwhile, “The Grand Budapest Hotel” won the Best Musical/Comedy award while “Boyhood” beat off stiff competition for Best Drama and Direction too (by Richard Linklater).

In the TV shows, “The Affair” won Best Drama and “Transparent” was honored as Best Comedy/Musical. Ruth Wilson (“The Affair”) and Kevin Spacey (“House of Cards”) took home the awards for their Drama performances while Gina Rodriguez (“Jane the Virgin”) and Jeffrey Tambor (“Transparent”) won top honors for their roles in Comedy/Musical.

Elsewhere, “Fargo” was voted as the Best Miniseries with protagonist, Billy Bob Thorton also grabbing the award for Best Actor in a Miniseries. Dreamwork’s “How To Train Your Dragon 2” got the the award for the Best Animated Feature Film, “Leviathan” from Russia was victorious in the category of Best Foreign Language Film and the song “Glory” (by John Legend & Common) from “Selma” was recognized as the Best Original Song.
