Madonna Lends a Voice for Nigeria on Baga Massacre as Others Remain Silent!

While the killings at Charlie Hebdo received wide publicity globally and garnered international attentions which had world leaders and millions of others take to the streets of Paris to protest the deadly terror attack, the massacre in Baga was very much unknown in other parts of the globe.
The killings at the Baga village with Amnesty International saying thousands of lives were lost was one of the deadliest life-sapping incident in the continent but received little coverage from the world’s media. According to AP however, it was reported that an Amnesty International statement said the town may have lost as many as 2,000 people in the massacre.
Madonna through her superstar status is helping to bring worldwide attention to this sad incident via her recent Instagram post to show support to the victims of the Baga massacre and also call attention to the heartbreaking situation in the Northern part of Nigeria.
“Why aren’t we talking about Nigeria? Boko Haram has killed 2000 people in an attack in Northern Nigeria! Barbaric and heartbreaking! We must stop the violence and support Nigerian people! #iamnigeria #revolutionoflove”
“The people of Nigeria matter too! I am not just Charlie #iamnigeria ❤️#rebelheart“, She further stated.
All these comments are just an euphemism of the disproportionate news coverage.
