Google Plans on Reaching out to Billions Lacking Internet Access!
Believe or not, in our most wired and connected globe today where internet is often taken for granted in developed countries, it has been reported that there is still an estimated 3 billion people who do not have internet access at their disposal. Most of them are living in the poorest and most remote parts of the world where it is just impossible to enjoy the benefits of having access to the internet in the comfort of their homes. Most of those falling into this category are in the hinterland of Africa or South America where access to modern technology is a major obstacle due to the high cost of deploying the infrastructure in such places.
Now, Google has an ambitious plan to cover the remaining part of the world without internet access! The technology monolith is never shy from innovation and is always in the forefront for implementing ground-breaking solutions to everyday problems. From solar-powered drones to balloons in the stratosphere beaming internet directly to homes, the company is now considering a joint $1billion investment with Fidelity Fund to fire satellites into space and to beam the internet directly, hence bypassing the varied telecommunication companies that operate as internet service providers.
There is one advantage in Google search when it is beamed directly to the search engine operated by this giant – results will be immediate instead of the usual crawling using the various telecommunication service providing companies.
